Richard III celebrates its premiere at the Kammeroper on 3 June. Set designer Nikolaus Webern gives an insight into the set in advance with his model photos: ‘The challenge was to create a large hall in the small chamber opera. Rooms like the one we have built on the stage used to be used for celebrations or representations, but also for theatre performances - such as the Great Hall at Hampton Court Palace. The raw wooden look has a temporary, backdrop-like quality - boards that mean the world."
