The programme "Operetten-Boulevard" on BR-KLASSIK awards the "BR-Klassik-Operetten-Frosch" for the production Candide.

The BR-KLASSIK team congratulates the management team, the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien under the energetic Marin Alsop, the excellent ensemble and the Arnold Schoenberg Chor for their successful efforts and great operetta courage.

Since the beginning of 2016, the jury of the operetta editorial team at BR-KLASSIK has been honouring outstanding productions of the genre and nominating them for the "Spielzeit-Frosch" award.

The BR-KLASSIK-Frosch is intended to show: It is worth presenting operetta in a way that emphasises its subversiveness, wit and esprit. It is also worth believing in the mental agility of the audience - and not to let up in stimulating it!
