Georg Kreisler’s one-woman musical tells the story of the singer Lola Blau. In 1938 she flees to Switzerland to escape from the Nazis, before she is finally able to emigrate to America where she becomes a celebrated sex symbol. After the war she returns to Vienna where she finds that little has changed … The songs of Georg Kreisler, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year, have become classics and range from rousing revue numbers to deeply melancholy ballads.
