We were shocked to learn of the death of the composer and conductor Peter Eötvös. For many years, Peter Eötvös was one of the most important composers of our time. Especially with his stage works such as "Tri Sestri" after Chekhov, "Angels in America" after Kushner or, most recently, "Sleepless" and "Valuska", he left his mark on music theatre in a very unique and unmistakable way. Just a year ago, we were able to experience Peter Eötvös as an inspiring, generous and humorous artist who was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with younger people during the performance of his opera "Der goldene Drache" at the Kammeroper. His death is a great loss for musical theatre. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife and family.
