Gerhard Schedl named an essential characteristic of children's opera that is generally constitutive of children's literature and is also a characteristic of children's opera: the dual address. 20 years later, this art form is being scrutinised. From a multidisciplinary perspective, academics and practitioners analyse developments, productions, contemporary formats for the big stage and small narrative forms in their aesthetic diversity.
