Der herzlose Riese tells the story of the young girl Lene, who helps the helpless king Henrik in his search for his three missing sons. They were last seen near the spooky dark forest, where the heartless giant Dappert Dapp is up to mischief. Lene is supported on her adventure by the clever wolf Liv, with whose help she tracks down the princes in the heartless giant's castle. But the giant will only release the three if Lene brings him back his heart, which is hidden on a distant island... A wonderful fairy tale about courage, helpfulness and, above all, friendship!
Der herzlose Riese was commissioned by the Philharmonie Luxembourg and premiered there in March 2022 at the Theater an der Wien, the fairy tale will be seen for the first time in Austria as a semi-staged production - an enchanting and humorous musical theatre experience for young & all!

The adventure begins, the excitement is intense – as we set out on a voyage of discovery through the newly refurbished Theater an der Wien, bringing stage stars of yesteryear back to life as we go. In the voyage of discovery Bravissimo!, Sebastian Brand and Florian Stanek combine expert knowledge of the theatre’s 200-year history with an action-packed challenge for all visitors aged 6 and above. When the visitors take on creative challenges together with the artists, the focus is firmly on fun, thrills and, above all, music. We look forward to welcoming all our guests, whether young or evergreen, opera veterans or “philistines"!

Workshops for families & friends
On certain Saturdays from the autumn it will be time to say TaWow! – it’s TaWumm! Saturday. Our workshops for children and families, each one devised as a standalone event, offer a wide range of activities designed to help the participants get to know musical theatre in an entertaining way and use their creativity. Playing, singing and dancing, and even making the odd prop or two – together we’ll make the exciting world of opera our own. With a whole load of theatre magic guaranteed!

TaWumm! Club Night
The club for young people aged 16 to 24
Are you aged between 16 and 24? You’re unfamiliar with opera but would like to know more about it? Or you’re already great fans of musical theatre and/or have always wanted to get to know theatre from a different perspective? Whatever background you have, come along and be part of TaWumm! Club Night! Together we sit in on rehearsals and performances and meet artists such as singers and directors. But we also take a look behind the scenes and get to know the people who perform backstage. In workshops with a focus on a particular theme and with different leaders you are free to choose whichever artistic activities you fancy. You can try singing, dancing and acting – no limits are imposed on your creativity. The main thing is that you make musical theatre – and lots of it! Previous knowledge or experience is not necessary. Just be open, honest and critical – that’s what we want.
