Reduced tickets for schoolchildren, students, apprentices, military and civilian servants can be booked online from three weeks before the respective performance date. Registration is required for booking. After registration, the discount is automatically offered at the time of purchase.
Upon presentation of a valid ID, the reduced tickets can also be purchased at the evening box office in the Theater an der Wien or in the Kammeroper.
The reduction is valid until the age of 27.
Online booking
Registration is required for first-time use:
- Click on "Create New Account".
- Please fill in the mandatory fields marked with *.
- In the field "Educational institution", please enter the educational institution or the place of work.
- In case of a study programme, please also enter the matriculation number in the field "Student ID".
- Complete the registration by clicking on the "Register" button.
Ticket booking:
- Log in with your email address and the password you set during registration.
- The discount will be offered automatically at the time of purchase after registration. Please note that reduced tickets for schoolchildren, students, apprentices, military and civilian servants can be booked online from three weeks before the respective performance date.
- Place the reduced ticket for the selected event in the shopping basket and complete the purchase (additional tickets in other categories can be combined).
- Please bring your proof of eligibility to the event as this will be checked on site.

Please note that these reductions only apply to our own productions. For third-party events, pricing is the responsibility of the organiser. In the event of misuse, the VBW will refuse to issue discounted tickets. Discounted tickets may not be issued for commercial purposes. Cannot be combined with other promotions, no cash redemption possible, tickets subject to availability, existing bookings excluded, subject to change.
